My name is Dilara, I am blind

In 2012, I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease. Gradually, I lost my sight, and the world I was used to began to disappear. Work, communication, the familiar daily rush — everything felt like it belonged to the past. There was a time when I didn’t know how to keep going. Thanks to the support of my loved ones and the training I received from the Red Crescent of Kazakhstan, I regained control over my life: I practice yoga again, I’m learning Italian, and I run a Telegram channel for people with visual impairments, sharing what once helped me through it all. I realized the most important thing: accepting an illness doesn’t mean giving up. Sometimes, it means seeing even more in life — the strength of love and care.

My name is Alina, I am a mother

I grew up in an orphanage, became a mother at a young age, and for many years I raised four children on my own while working several jobs. Life was not easy: my child’s illness, lack of money, education, and support. At my hardest moment, I turned to the Red Crescent and the ‘Only Mother’ project. Their monthly support and care helped me believe in myself, continue my studies, and gain a profession. I realized that I was not alone. Today, I am a paramedic, my children are growing up, and I know that even a small act of care and support can change a life forever.

My name is Murat, I am a survivor

In 2010, I survived a devastating accident: an open skull fracture, a torn tongue, multiple fractures, and a pacemaker implanted. A month in a coma, a year in the hospital, and more than ten surgeries — doctors said I wouldn’t survive. I started in a wheelchair and, step by step, fought my way back to life through pain and doubt. Understanding how hard it is to face fear alone, I decided to support others. I learned first aid, returned to motorsport, graduated from medical college, and became a paramedic. I joined the Red Crescent as a volunteer and later became the director of a branch. My story is about choice, responsibility, and how you go on after the words “incompatible with life”.
